Cindy Sass  Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Educator

Cindy has been a registered dietitian since 1994. She has a University degree in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Manitoba, a dietetic internship from The Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg Manitoba and has held the additional certification of a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) for over 15 years.

Cindy has been employed in Community Health Centres, Diabetes Education Centres and Family Health Teams where she has created unique teaching tools, designed and ran cooking programs, facilitated heart healthy classes, and has a variety of experience working with many age groups from infants to the elderly. Cindy won 2 national awards for her work developing a nationally recognized teaching tool called “The Diabetes Food Guide". She has been a popular speaker in many corporate and workplace wellness programs including the Government of Canada agencies, Carleton University, and several technology sector companies. Cindy has also been a speaker at professional conferences teaching physicians, nurses and other health professionals about diabetes and diet. She has appeared in various forms of media from radio, television, print magazines and newspapers all over the country. Cindy has been a member of The College of Dietitians of Ontario since 1994.

In her leisure time Cindy enjoys playing sports, especially hockey and soccer where she participates in women’s leagues in her community of Stittsville/Kanata.  Cindy enjoys working with athletes to give them a nutrition advantage in their sport.
